A smaller-sized orchestra for this time period (of about fifty musicians or fewer) is called a chamber orchestra.
Mr. Zubin Mehta reportedly earned a staggering $48 million from 2019 – 2020 making him one of the highest-earning musicians in the world presently. Zubin Mehta is a remarkable figure in the music world. Born in Bombay, India in 1936 his Father founded the Bombay Symphony Orchestra.

Bassoon
The largest orchestra consists of 8,097 musicians, and was achieved by Gazprom's Fund for Supporting Social Initiatives (Russia), in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on 1 September 2019. The orchestra performed the Russian National Anthem.
Modern orchestras are a bit smaller than in the Romantic Era (symphony and other very large orchestras still exist). Some may focus on the unique (or even bizarre) sounds of individual instruments. The modern symphony orchestra varies in size, but typically has a strength of about 100.
