What are the primary instrument groups in an orchestra?

A symphony is a large-scale musical composition, usually with three or four movements. An orchestra is a group of musicians with a variety of instruments, which usually includes the violin family.

Conductor, in music, a person who conducts an orchestra, chorus, opera company, ballet, or other musical group in the performance and interpretation of ensemble works.

The next largest section of the orchestra is usually the woodwind family. Most woodwind instruments use a small piece of wood called a reed to produce their vibration.

An orchestra, at least in Western culture, usually has a fairly specific selection of instruments from which the orchestra is comprised ("orchestral instruments"). In contrast, an ensemble can be any collection of instruments, voices, dancers. An orchestra is always an ensemble, but not all ensembles are orchestras.

The idea behind orchestra auditions is that you want a fair way to hear people play and choose them based only on their ability to play music. that's why most orchestra auditions have a screen between the judges and candidates. that is something that varies from orchestra to orchestra.

What makes them sound so good is the fact that they did play a more developed form of rock music if you will. They included also entire orchestras in their recordings to create a more vibrant sound. On top of that their singing was neither harsh or otherwise unpleasant.

Conductors act as guides to the orchestras or choirs they conduct. They choose the works to be performed and study their scores, to which they may make certain adjustments (such as in tempo, articulation, phrasing, repetitions of sections), work out their interpretation, and relay their vision to the performers.
