The double bass is the biggest string instrument in the orchestra. It emits low and muted tones, sometimes rhythmic, sometimes long, but almost always incredibly powerful. The double bass part often forms a stable foundation over which the rest of the orchestra's notes can resound.
The composers and conductors were unwilling to fight with the orchestra members, and the orchestral saxophone was cast aside. So, the next time you see a saxophone in an orchestra, remember that its presence in the ensemble is a very contentious issue.
6. Keyboards are usually at the bottom of the score. Parts that are not normally part of a concert (symphonic) band score - featured solo, chorus, etc. - can wind up just about anywhere, but are often found between the woodwinds and the brass.

Electric Light Orchestra's song "Livin' Thing" was set to be featured in Guardians of the Galaxy, but the scene it appeared in did not make the final cut of the film. It is featured in Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series.
Conductors act as guides to the orchestras or choirs they conduct. They choose the works to be performed and study their scores, to which they may make certain adjustments (such as in tempo, articulation, phrasing, repetitions of sections), work out their interpretation, and relay their vision to the performers.
One of the first was bassist and bandleader Bill Johnson, who set down new roots in Los Angeles. Johnson formed the Creole Band (known also as the Original Creole Orchestra) and introduced the West Coast to authentic New Orleans sounds in the early teens.

1996 Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Active from Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed in 1996 by Paul O'Neill who immediately approached long time friends and collaborators Robert Kinkel and Jon Oliva to form a core writing team.
The orchestra is comprised of over 200 young musicians between the ages of 18 and 28, and is the flagship of the orchestral academic program of the Fundación Musical “Simón Bolívar” (Fundamusical Bolívar).
Orchestras generally have as many string players as they can afford, space permitting. Big budget orchestras will have much larger string sections than orchestras with smaller budgets. Opera orchestras use a smaller string section due to space limitations in the pit.
